For more than 75 years The company Polaroid has pioneered instant photography since Edwin Land first conceived his instant camera. These designs allow us to embrace old technologies and bring them through these new times with ultimate technological advances in the area of  photography. I’ll tell you the story of how this amazing camera was invented.

  • In 1926 Edwin H. Land, founder of Polaroid, leaves Harvard University after his freshman year to pursue his own research on light polarization. Two years later, he files the patent first synthetic polarizer. He then stablishes Land-Wheelwright Laboratories in Boston with his former Harvard physics professor, George Wheelwright III. They continue to research and to produce synthetic polarizers. In 1939 Polaroid produces glasses, ski goggles, 3D glasses, and dark adapter goggles for the Army and Navy.

While on vacation with his family, his 3 year old daughter asks why she cant see the picture he has just taken of her. That day he conceives the instant camera “Model 95”  and becomes the prototype for all Polaroid Land cameras produced during next 15 years.

  • In 1963 they introduce Polacolor, the first instant color film “Model 100”, the first fully automatic pack film and exposure control camera. The stylish and low priced “Polaroid Swinger” is released and is extremely successful with a younger generation.

The catchy “Meet the Swinger” jingle sung by Barry Manilow featuring Ali MacGraw makes the camera a household name. Lawrence Olivier becomes an advertising spokesman for the Polaroid SX-70. Life Magazine features the camera and Land on the front cover.

In 1977 The Polaroid OneStep Land camera debuts. This inexpensive, fixed-focus camera becomes the best-selling camera, instant or conventional, in the US. And in 1997 a modern Polaroid OneStep Express is reissued with a rounded body and in various color options.

With the new century Polaroid launches the Z340 instant digital camera in 2011, a fully-functioning digital camera and integrated printer that uses ZINK- Zero Ink- Printing Technology to instantly transform digital pictures into fun 3×4″ prints.

The latest model the “Polaroid Cube” debuts as the newest and smallest Polaroid lifestyle action camera. The 35mm camera is weatherproof, shockproof, mountable and packed with 1080p HD video, 124° wide-angle lens, and built-in battery that records up to 90 minutes.

Review on my 3 Favorite Series

I WANTED TO DO A REVIEW ON THE BEST 3 SERIES IN ENGLISH I HAVE WATCHED COMPLETELY OR AT LEAST MANY SEASONS SO FAR. Series have developed into a mixture between the beauty of the visual arts of film and the time frame of televsion, which for me is a new adiction.

I can imagine that when the director had this book in his hands for the first time he might have been transported to another world, because that is what he actually created. I know many fans of the books might have their reservations on desicions he might have taken, but he is a true genious. The locations, the art department, the scenagraphy built, the actors and actrices chosen for each role, evverything is a work of art and always respecting the truth in the storyline. George RR Martin wrote a masterpiece and HBO made it visual art.

Calendar-2014-wall-downton-abbeyThere is no wonder why this 6 Season Series has won so many awards throughout it’s years. Every episode of this story brings a continuity that keeps you wanting more, you get wrapped up in a world that existed before our time, in a very strict society and historical moments that are filled with the beauty of long dresses and jewels with the contrast of the working class, It’s the story of a place, the people and a time. The miticulous work of historians with the art department and the fact that the acting is so well done make it a beautful piece to watch.

vikingsAs soon as the Intro begins you get filled with an atmosphere of mystical, power & a feeling of fierce warriors sorrounding you with every beat of the drums. The photography and art department have made an amazing job combining color, tones and historically accurate wardrobe, armery, locations and scenography. The series brings characters that actually existed thanks to the help of History Channel and HBO brought amazing production and storyline to the table. For me, I think it’s worth watching every episode.

Film:The hundred-foot journey

This is by far one of my favorite movies of this year..The colours, the smell (you can actually smell the cooking), the beautiful landscapes of France and the rich Indian culture. It has my 10 points approval!
Screenplay: Steven Knight

directed by Lasse Hallstrom, a script written by Steven Knight, adapted from the novel by Richard C. Morais with the same name.

Produced by Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg for DreamWorks Pictures, through companies Amblin Entertainment y Harpo Films,

Starring: Helen Mirren, Charlotte Le Bon, Rohan Chand, Manish Dayal, Om Puri, Juhi Chawla, Amit Shah, Farzana Dua Elahe, Michel Blanc, Tatyana Richaud, Jean Kinsella, Emanuele Section, Dillon Mitra, Malcolm Granath, Sanjay Sharma

Screen adaptation of the acclaimed work of Richard C. Morais, ‘The Hundred-Foot Journey’.

Hassan Kadam (Manish Dayal) is a naive culinary professional with an unbeatable taste. The Kadam family, far from India and led by their fathe (Om Puri), are set in the small town of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val in the south of France. Where they decided to continue the family tradition of cooking with their secret spices brought from India. His father, a businessman, buys a restaurant and turns it into a The Maison Mumbai. There they find that the French are very particular about their eating habits and they take on the task of revolutionizing the people of the town. It is an amazing story filled with teachings about love and respect.

FRESH, funny & with an amazing actoral direction! I laughed all through it, that is the best description for this FRANCO-BELGIAN Film from 2010. It is set in 1977 in Sainte-GUDULE. The tyrannical HUSBAND AND company owner lives his LIFE WITH AN EXACT ORDER IN EVERY ASPECT. HIS WIFE, which HE underestimates and treats as a “POTICHE”, is an EXEMPLARY TROPHY Housewife that takes THE REINS of the situation they will encounter in an amazing way.

This comedy is directed by François Ozon and BASED ON THE WORK OF THE SAME NAME by PIERRE BARILLET AND JEAN-PIERRE Gredy. starring Catherine Deneuve, Gerard Depardieu (ONE OF MY FRENCH favorite actors), Fabrice Luchini, Karin Viard, Godrèche and Jeremie RENIER.
This MOVIE competed at the Venice Film Festival 67A and received two nominations MAGRITTE AWARDS PRIZE FOR BEST ACTOR BY Renier.

DON’T HESITATE TO SEE this movie you will Not regret it!
