After a long week of exhausting work and constant errands, sometimes when the weekend arrives you don’t actually feel like going out and decide to stay in and being pampered. We need to set time aside and take care of ourselves, rejuvenating both mentally and physically and being able to feel energized the next morning.
You just need to grab a couple of things around the house and leave Netflix or Spotify ready for a night of DIY spa treatments. It’s not easy to sit down and relax, but trust me, you’re going to make it a routine for your weekends.
The first step of being able to indulge in a stay at home spa is to let whoever you live with know that you plan on relaxing and not to disturb you for an hour or two. Choose the space where you are going to create the ambiance, it can be in your bedroom, living room or even in the bathroom if you’d like. Now get your music or favorite series ready.
You are definitely going to require some healthy snacks and infused water. The water is very easy to make and you can leave it ready from the night before. Cut cucumbers, mint, and strawberries into slices and place in a large pitcher of cold water; that’s your luxury fruit-infused water in minutes.
Afterwards, you’ll need to organize all the necessary supplies:
Set of towels for hair and body
Scented candles: I recommend using lavender, eucalyptus or lemon, which are usually used in actual spas.
Foot massager, if you have one or a plastic container that fit your feet comfortably. Manicure and Pedicure set
Essential oils: I recommend using lavender oil, peppermint oil, and eucalyptus oil. And avocado or coconut oils for your body or hair.
Hair clip and small bandana
⦁ And from the kitchen: ground coffee, brown or white sugar, baking soda, white vinegar, 2 green tea teabags and honey
There is no specific order for your spa treatments, but you can start with a simple manicure and pedicure and a face mask. Then a hair treatment and body scrub before taking a bath with your scented candles nearby, it all depends on you.
Here are a few DIY tips for you to try:
Body scrub: Mix 1 cup of ground coffee and 1/4 cup of sugar with 3 or 4 drops of coconut oil
Face mask: Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 1 tablespoon of honey
Hair treatment: Add 2 drops of avocado oil to your hand and warm it up. Place from the ear down to the ends and leave for 15 minutes
Foot soak: Add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar to hot water
Eye soother: Soak green tea teabags, let cool and place on your eyes for 20 minutes
Bath bomb: Mix 2 drops of the essential oils with 1 tablespoon of Epsom salts
Hope you enjoyed your night at the spa! It is always good to relax!
