The ancient Romans considered it an aphrodisiac. In Thailand and elsewhere in Southeast Asia, pregnant women anoint their bellies with PRAI, a type of ginger, this prevents them from having stretch marks. It has also been used for generations of Asian women to tone and smooth the skin. It is a common ingredient in body scrubs because it increases circulation and warms the body.
  • The stem is usually used for stomach ailments, because it favors the absorption of food and improves the digestive process.
  • Ginger tea relieves different types of inflammations, especially those related to arthritis and joint pains.
  • It is ingested by women when suffering from constant nausea during the gestation period, this prevents discomfort.
  • It is effective to treat circulation problems because it promotes blood flow.

DO IT YOURSELF:

USE GINGER TO ENHANCE YOUR LIPS: Melt 2 tablespoons of beeswax and a tablespoon of canola oil in a double boiler. Grate a teaspoon of ginger, squeeze the juice and mix with the other ingredients. Store in a small jar of lip balm in a cool place.
